Post-war cinema

At this point it is clear how, since opening to the public, the Aquila Theatre building has undergone almost uninterrupted remodelling, minor restorations and structural and functional modifications, interspersed with substantial structural and formal interventions. In the post-war period, for example, when the seventh art began to attract spectators in droves, to witness the magic of the silver screen, Aquila Theatre was converted into a cinema. Unfortunately, it must be said that many of the patrons, unaware of the great importance and prestige of the venue, violated its beauty and history with more or less conscious acts of vandalism. However, many of Fermo’s residents nostalgically recount their memories of that beautiful and sumptuous theatre, whether linked to a film or a New Year’s Eve party.
