Look at the music

An extraordinary collection of vinyls lights up Palazzo dei Priori in Fermo. The exhibition presents a selection of over 230 author covers from 1940 to today, collected by Alessandro Biocca in over 35 years. An immersion in music and modern and contemporary art.


Andy Wharol, Mirò, Oliviero Toscani, Jeff Koons, Keith Haring, Milo Manara, Banksy. They are just some of the artists of the over 230 vinyl covers that will be exhibited at Palazzo dei Priori di Fermo. The exhibition “Look at the music. Author and vinyl covers from 1940 to today “, edited by Alessandro Biocca. The exhibition is promoted by the Municipality of Fermo and organized by Maggioli Culture and Tourism and adds to the rich cultural offer of Museums of Fermo.

The suggestive exhibition “Look at the music” will touch more musical genres, giving an overview of the history of music and modern and contemporary art from the 1940s to today, through the author’s covers of the vinyls and some of its greatest protagonists .

The vinyls exhibited are a selection chosen by the vast private collection of Alessandro Biocca, consisting of over 8500 vinyls, the result of a meticulous research, collection and cataloging conducted in over 35 years. An exhibition that will enchant music fans and beyond, with more artistic categories exhibited, from graphics to comic to photography.

The curator and collector Alessandro Biocca explains: “The real lack, that no digital device can ever fill, is the one that is given by visual experience. The one given by the cover of a disc and which had its maximum peak in the period from 1948 to 1982 or, in the parable that begins when the LP was invented and ends when the first compact disc was presented “.

The exhibition will be open until November 3, 2024.
